The teardown

You never really know what needs replacing or what band-aid fixes the previous owner have applied until you have fully stripped down the bike.

Off with the tank

Our VFR400 had spent most of it’s last 12 months in the backyard of a Surry Hills terrace. No cover, no protection, no respect…so it was no surprise when we found cobwebs, leaves, sticks and insects burying their places in the deep craves es of our motorcycle.

Strip it down

There wasn’t much life left in the old track day warrior, battle wounds were many, but this did not deter our purchase. There was a big bully sleeping under the scorn fiberglass fairings. All we needed to do was restore some life and bring the VFR400 back to it’s playground – The Race Track. Work would have to begin immediately.

Almost naked.
